Seed Number

What is a seed number?

The seed number is the starting point used in the generation of a sequence of random numbers. All output workpapers that generate a testing selection will have a seed number on the Notes tab at the top of the workpaper on the Testing tab. This number will ensure that if you reprocess a plan, we will generate the same sample.

If you need to increase your sample, you can do so in the Engagement's Testing Setup. When you reprocess, AuditMiner will select the same sample that was selected when you originally processed, and then choose additional random samples to reach the expanded sample number.

If you decrease your sample, when you reprocess AuditMiner will select a reduced number from the same sample that was originally selected.
