PARTICIPANT RECONCILIATION FAQ
This article will provide additional details to commonly asked questions regarding the Participant Reconciliation tab of the Plan and Participant Reconciliation Workbook.
What does a status of "Matched" mean?
The participant has contributions, and AuditMiner successfully matched them across payroll and recordkeeper data using name and any shared identifiers.
What does a status of “Unmatched” mean?
The participant has contributions in either payroll or recordkeeper data, but AuditMiner could not match them across both sources using name and any shared identifiers. This can happen when the names are inconsistent between recordkeeper and payroll files.
For example, “Smith, Samantha” and “Smith, Sam” would not be matched even if the identifiers are the same.
What does a status of “Review Required” mean?
“Review Required” indicates that AuditMiner was able to locate the participant in both the payroll and recordkeeper data, but the match was not unique.
This happens when there are inconsistencies between the two sources, such as:
- A participant has the same name, but multiple identifiers.
- A participant’s identifier matches, but there are multiple names attached to it.
For Example: If “Acosta, Oakleigh” appears in the payroll input file with both “EMP1835” and “EMPT1853” as identifiers, but the recordkeeper file shows “Acosta, Oakleigh” with identifier “EMP1835”, AuditMiner cannot determine which identifier is correct. In this case, the participant is flagged as “Review Required” and shown as two separate individuals.
